Editorial policy

The rules every offer on this site has to pass — and what happens when it stops passing them.

1. Sources

Offers and coupons come only from sources we're authorized to use: retailer promotional feeds, affiliate-network product and coupon feeds, official product APIs, and publisher feeds whose terms permit it. We don't scrape restricted websites or work around publisher restrictions. Each listing shows its source.

2. Prices

  • The current price must come from a dedicated, structured price field in the feed, as a single unambiguous US-dollar amount. Text like “from $19” or “up to 50% off” is never treated as a price.
  • We never extract numbers from article text, and never fill in a missing price, image or product detail.
  • Items without structured offer data are not listed as deals.

3. Discounts and reference prices

A discount appears only when the source supplies a reference price that is higher than the current price. We label which kind of reference it is — the retailer's list price, its previous price, or the manufacturer's suggested price — and round the percentage down. A reference price implying more than 90% off is treated as a data error and dropped.

4. Freshness, expiry and removal

  • Every offer shows when its price was last confirmed by the source.
  • An offer that hasn't been reconfirmed within 48 hours is hidden from all listings.
  • Offers past their stated end date are marked expired. Offers the source stops listing are removed.
  • If a feed fails, we never substitute other data. Its offers stay only while still fresh, then come down.
  • “Ending soon” and end dates appear only when the source provides an end time. We don't use countdown timers.

5. Coupons

Each code carries a label describing where it came from:

  • Retailer-issued — from the retailer's official promotions feed.
  • From affiliate network — supplied by the retailer's affiliate program; not tested by us at checkout.
  • Source-reported, unverified — from a third-party feed. Appearing in an RSS feed never counts as verification.

6. Categories

Offers are categorized from the retailer's or feed's own product taxonomy. When a category can't be determined reliably, the offer is left out of category pages rather than guessed.

Picks are either listed by our editors in version-controlled configuration or, when there aren't enough of those, selected by this rule: active and recently confirmed, with a product image and a verified discount of at least 20%, ordered by discount, at most one per store. If fewer than 3 offers qualify, the section is hidden.

8. Trending and popularity

“Trending” and “popularity” sorting use only real outbound clicks from the last seven days, excluding known bots. If there isn't enough genuine activity, the trending section is hidden. We don't display view counts, “people are looking at this” messages or stock warnings.

9. Reviews and ratings

We don't publish star ratings, reviews or testimonials for products or for this site.

10. Deal News

Deal News collects headlines from deal publishers and retail newsrooms through their public RSS feeds, checked every few minutes. Each story shows the headline, an excerpt of at most 100 words, the outlet that reported it (and any others that covered the same story), and a link to the full article on the publisher's site. We never republish full articles. Press-release wires, sponsored posts and gambling content are filtered out. Stories with very short excerpts aren't indexed by search engines. Prices mentioned in news stories are the publisher's, not ours — they aren't shown as verified deals. Publishers can ask us to remove their feed at any time.

While no retailer feed is connected for a page, that page shows deals reported by these publishers instead, always labeled as such. When a publisher supplies structured fields (DealNews does), we show its price marked “reported”, its store and its end date, and use them to file the deal under a store, a price band or “Ending soon”. We never read prices out of headline text, and we drop a publisher price that is a starting price (“from $9”) or a cash bonus. Deals past their end date leave every listing. Editor's picks on these pages are the publisher's own staff picks; “Trending” ranks publisher deals by clicks through to the publisher over the last 7 days.

11. Lifestyle and Bar Cart articles

The Lifestyle pages (style, grooming, gear) and the Bar Cart (wine, whiskey, beer, cocktails, spirits — for readers 21 and over) list the newest articles from men's lifestyle and drinks publishers, read from their public RSS feeds every 45 minutes. Each article shows its headline, date, publisher and a teaser of at most 55 words taken from the feed's own summary — never the full text — and links to the original on the publisher's site. Thumbnails appear only where the publisher's terms allow it; elsewhere we show a plain tile with the publisher's name. We don't visit or copy article pages. Sponsored posts, giveaways and cannabis stories are left out, and the same article from two feeds is shown once. Feeds whose terms allow only personal, non-commercial use stay switched off unless the publisher gives permission. Publishers can ask us to remove their feed at any time.

12. Games

The Games pages list free-to-keep games, giveaways, discounts and platform news from public RSS feeds (LootScraper, Steam, itch.io, the Epic Games Store and Blizzard via RSSHub, and r/GameDealsFree), checked every 20 minutes. A price, regular price, discount or end date appears only when the feed states it — we never estimate one. LootScraper end dates are shown as given (its feed doesn't name a time zone). Offers leave the page when their end date passes, or after 14 days when no end date is given. The same game offered on the same store is shown once, even when several feeds carry it. Every card links to the store or the original post; these links aren't affiliate links.
